Anissa Bain

Anissa Bain's expertise

Anissa is based in the firm’s Richmond office. She advises clients on a range of property, corporate and commercial, trust (both discretionary and charitable) and estate planning issues.

Anissa has a client base that reflects the region’s diversity - acting for those in the wine, dairy, forestry, horticulture and agricultural industries as well as for a range of small and medium-sized local businesses. She understands what makes each industry unique, the law as it currently applies to each client, and how new law will impact each client. For example, Anissa is a member of the Lawlink special interest group focussing on the Emissions Trading scheme, ensuring that resources are pooled to develop a deeper understanding of the legal impact of the legislation, when it is developed.

Anissa is passionate about solving her clients’ problems. She uses her detailed understanding of the law and her understanding of clients’ situations to get them where they want to be, using the most stress-free, efficient path possible.

Throughout her career Anissa’s clients have responded to the personable and ‘non-lawyer like’ way in which she works with them.

Favourite tip about the region

Anissa recommends visiting a spot which “feeds the soul”. The Riwaka resurgence, at the head of the Riwaka river, is a place where the water emerges from the limestone caves. The water is freezing cold but crystal clear and plenty of people plunge into it in summer. On a sunny day Anissa often heads that way in her 1969 VW Beetle.
