David Farnsworth

David Farnsworth's expertise

David helps his clients to effectively structure their personal and business matters. His broad legal background means he understands how clients’ business matters can impact their personal assets. This gives David’s clients the confidence that their legal documents, including wills, estates and trusts, will deliver what they want and need.

David joined Pitt & Moore in 1981, having worked in London and Christchurch. He has built a reputation for helping clients work through issues in order to get the best outcome for their particular circumstances.

David’s large client base of longstanding clients is testament to his approachable, tactful and empathetic style, and his ability to ensure clients are free to get on with their lives, knowing their wishes will be carried out.

Favourite tip about the region

When David’s not in the office he can usually be found at the Nelson Golf Club, working on his 11 handicap (often with clients who also enjoy golf), otherwise he can be found in his garden at home.

David is an avid reader, particularly of biographies and non-fiction, and his recommendations are "The Middle Class: A History" by Lawrence James, published by Abacus, and “Agincourt: the King, the Campaign, the Battle” by Juliet Barker, published by Little Brown and Company.
