Kathy Ballantyne's expertise

Kathy is a senior legal executive in our property team (commencing work at Pitt and Moore in 1985 and completing the Legal Executive examinations in 1990), specialising in residential conveyancing and client gifting programmes.   She has a broad understanding of what issues may impact clients’ personal circumstances when purchasing a property, getting a mortgage, or setting up gifting programmes.
    
Kathy works with partners to assist corporate clients with conveyancing work and the preparation of Maori Incorporation leases. Kathy enjoys being able to call on other experts in her team when required, for example when clients are looking at subdivisions, as this results in her clients receiving the right advice as and when they need it.

Kathy has a reputation for being highly organised and for keeping everyone involved in the loop as to how each transaction is progressing. This ensures everything runs as smoothly as possible and clients are kept up to date at all times. Kathy is approachable and is very good at explaining in plain English what the issues are and what the legal jargon means.

Favourite tip about the region

Kathy’s favourite place in the region is anywhere where there is a beautiful garden in which to sit and relax, possibly with a good book.  She is enthusiastic about quilting and gardening.  If she finds any other spare time she enjoys music, pilates or swimming.
