Mahafrin joined Pitt & Moore in 2021. Mahafrin has a great appreciation for and insight into different cultures and is able to assist clients in Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi and Urdu.
Mahafrin practices in all areas of immigration law and has more recently, branched out into the employment law space. Although Mahafrin’s clientele are a mixture of private and corporate – she finds it most fulfilling to reunite families and help new migrants blend into the fabric of Aotearoa.

Mahafrin’s core practice consists of providing immigration advice and guidance to private and corporate clients.
In addition to acting for clients on standard student, work, visitor and residence applications, Mahafrin has represented clients on complex matters such as medical and character waivers. She has also successfully obtained visas for clients through the Section 61 process and has submitted a number of successful requests to the Minister of Immigration.
Mahafrin is experienced in representing clients before the Immigration & Protection Tribunal. Moreover, she has dealt with numerous deportation proceedings, including assisting clients with custodial deportation matters.
In the past, Mahafrin has also advised Government organisations on matters related to clients seeking refugee status or asylum in New Zealand.
Mahafrin can assist employers and employees with a range of employment related queries.
She has experience in advising corporate clients with obtaining their employer accreditation status and works closely with employers during the process of securing visas for skilled migrants. She has assisted companies and employees in relocation and ensuring that their immigration matters are handled as smoothly as possible.
On various occasions Mahafrin has also been instructed to advise companies on how to ensure that their workforce remains immigration-compliant.
