Nick has an extensive employment relations and immigration background and is focused on achieving results.

Nick has an in depth understanding of clients’ needs. As former Workplace Relations Adviser at the State Services Commission in Wellington he has a unique insight into how various organisations work and the impact change can have on employees.

He has built a strong reputation within the employment and immigration industries, noted for his practical approach and ability to achieve results.


Nick is trusted by senior executives and boards of leading businesses in the Top of the South to get to the heart of any workforce issue and to deliver a clear solution.

He has been involved in many industrial disputes and union negotiations. He works with clients on all employment issues, including reviewing and preparing employment agreements, disciplinary matters, restraints of trade and workplace health and safety. Nick also has extensive mediation experience and has appeared in the Employment Relationship Authority and Employment Court.

Nick provides strategic advice on communications with regulators, including Labour Inspectors, and also regularly advises on compliance with minimum employment standards.

Visas and Immigration

Nick provides immigration advice on how to bring talent to New Zealand to international and major New Zealand corporations as well as to small and medium sized organisations.

He specialises in assisting corporate clients with high volumes of applications as well as with Employer Accreditation and Approval in Principle applications. He also specialises in immigration and employment law compliance audits and gives strategic advice to employers on migrant labour retention.

His business clients operate across a variety of sectors, including horticulture, viticulture, transport, manufacturing and fisheries.

Nick also regularly assists highly skilled individuals and their families with their immigration requirements.

In addition, Nick has extensive experience advising corporate clients on complex immigration compliance and sponsorship obligations. Nick has briefed human resources managers and senior managers on immigration related issues, including compliance obligations.
