Kaye’s expertise in the area of relationship law has come from over 20 years’ experience dealing with the many issues that surround relationships – from contracting out agreements, through to separations and the division of property and consideration of issues and resolutions around succession, trusts and family assets.
She grew up in Nelson and has practised law in the Nelson/Tasman region for most of her professional life. Kaye has skills in a range of legal areas including estates, wills, trusts and conveyancing as well as her specialist knowledge of family law.
Her clients describe her as mature, intelligent and a great problem-solver. They appreciate the way she is able to explain the law and the way it applies to their particular situation in a very clear way.
Kaye’s mantra is to be an advocate for each and every client. She says her greatest reward is seeing her clients leave in a better frame of mind after a meeting than when they arrived. Kaye always wants to get the very best result for each client – not just getting a matter settled, but making sure it’s the best possible outcome for them.
With young adult daughters who are studying, Kaye enjoys being able to support them as they move into their chosen careers.
Favourite tip about the regionI love tramping, particularly in the Nelson Lakes area. My favourite spot is the Angelus Hut because after the demanding walk you are rewarded with stunning alpine views and a gorgeous lake at your doorstep. If you’re into less strenuous walking though, I’d recommend trying the Speargrass Hut as an achieveable goal.
