After starting her career as a Judges’ Clerk in the High Court of Auckland, Yvanca worked as a Crown Prosecutor gaining a solid background in litigation, acting as sole and second counsel in a variety of criminal and regulatory matters.
Yvanca joined Pitt & Moore in 2017 as part of the litigation team and is expanding her core areas of practice to cover resource management, relationship property, trust and estate litigation, while continuing to work in other areas of civil disputes.
She routinely acts for both private and public sector clients in a wide range of contentious matters, including commercial and liability disputes.
She offers pragmatic advice with a demonstrated commitment to service delivery. Her extensive skills in dispute resolution and a sound understanding of business & personal relationships and the application of the law give her clients the confidence that results will be delivered.
Yvanca has appeared in the District Court and High Court and is qualified as intermediate jury trial counsel. She also speaks fluent Dutch and English.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution
Yvanca has acted in many contentious matters in various forums. Her technical litigation skills are of the highest standard and ensure that the best possible results are achieved in litigated matters.
She has significant experience in the successful conduct of defended hearings, trials (judge-alone and jury), appeals and negotiations.
She has recently been involved in complex litigation concerning alleged offences against the Immigration Act.
