Visa Processing During the Holiday Season
During the fast approaching holiday period, many government offices worldwide will close or have reduced staff and hours of operation. This is likely to result in processing delays for visas over the coming weeks and into the new year.
If you have travel or relocation plans to New Zealand or Australia that require a visa between now and early 2019, you should urgently get in touch with your immigration lawyer to discuss the impact of holiday closures on your specific circumstances.
The Department of Home Affairs will be closed 25 - 26 December 2018 and 1 January 2019.
All Immigration New Zealand offices in New Zealand will be closed between 25 December 2018 and the 3 January 2019.
Immigration New Zealand have advised that processing times may take longer from December to March 2019.
When making your travel plans, travelers need to take processing times into account. You can find the recent processing times on the Australia's Department of Home Affairs website for Australian visas and on the Immigration New Zealand's website for New Zealand visas.
We recommend submitting your visa application as early as possible to allow enough time for your application to be processed before the date you intend to travel.
